Price check on a 2001 Boxster S with 21,000 miles on, asking $27,500. 2 owner car. Garage kept according to the ad. Options include PASM, heated seats and mirrors, HID, self-dimming mirrors. Silver with blue interior. Dealer service according to add. Private sale.

I'd say it's at the upper end of the fair market value for the car, but not high enough to be out of the range. Off the top of my head, I think $26K is a decent price and $25K and good price. I imagine the $27.5 is just the asking price though.
I bought my 2001 S, 30K miles, CPO (very important to me) from a dealer for $30K more than a year ago, as a point of comparison.

I think it's fair price given the mileage and options. $26k would be a better price, but if you like the car and it is in good shape/well maintained, the extra $1k or so wouldn't be a deal breaker IMHO.

FYI, I know of an '01 Boxster S, excellent condition (manual, no heated seats, no traction, no HID), ~20K miles, that just sold today for ~$29K (private party).
