Too funny. Bumper Plugs came last night !!!

I installed this morning while having a cup a coffee. They do look very nice. $25 well spent dollars. Paint match is perfect.

Guess it will be harder to use the old "license plate bracket just fell off" excuse if I get stopped for no front plate. Oh well ... I have run up to now without one so wish me continued luck.

As per 7/31/2002 Ken 2KS post:
Good point regarding punching out the 3.2 to 3.4 by installing 3.4 (dare I dream 3.6?)pistons; I remember reading an article in Euro Car regarding an 'S' that was done using this theory, but lost the article and haven't seen anything else mentioned about it since.Don't get me wrong - love the idea of the swap, but I'd really like to know if it's possible to do that in an S.I'm considering it when my engine grows tired to throw in the 3.8l pistons
Thanks for your time,

Hey guys, don't forget that a 996 Carrera motor is the only one that swaps into a Boxster easily. The others (GT3 & 996t)are based on the orig air cooled block. They do not bolt up or have the starter in the right location. It takes lots of time and effort and cash to put a GT3 or Turbo motor in a Boxster. My Boxster/Turbo project is still not done. Even the '02 3.6 Carrera motor is a huge job because of the Vario-ram Plus electronics.

PS- Does anyone know if Rook ever finished AJBoston's 3.6C swap?

When converting to a 3.6 or 3.8l you must deal with the VariocamPlus, which is not on the smaller engines. Reprogramming the ECU does not cut it, as there are 2 additional solenoids to activate. When going to a 3.6 or 3.8L you can swap the harness & DME from the larger engine. Or handle it externally.

I was hired by a local Atlanta shop to handle the tuning and the VariocamPlus on a 3.8L conversion. After spending weeks on the project, I had it running nicely. The system I installed on the car was removed as the shop that hired us never paid (lack of funds).
It appears that the shop that hired us does not have good reputation as I come to discover. Based on this thread few people are already aware of the shop's terrible reputation.

The system we designed to handle the tuning and the control of the VariocamPlus will be available if there is enough interest. The 3.8L in a Boxster is awesome, and a fairly simple conversion (once you handle the tuning issues).

I think there will be enough interest depending on the price/performance/reliability. Several base 2.5Ls are going for 3.4L upgrades which is a 50% plus HP upgrade. A 3.4L is not much of an upgrade for those with 3.2L "S" Boxsters though which will be the next generation of upgrade folks. A 3.6L or 3.8L would be needed to be worthwhile, but this really hasn't been possible yet due to the VariocamPlus issue. Sorry you got screwed on the deal above, but don't throw away those plans
