Permit an intruder from the 911 board to ask for help on behalf of a friend who wants to buy a '98 or '99 Boxster: Can you direct me to any and all sources of advice, cautions, buyer's guides, etc., to help him make the right choice. Your personal opinions are welcome too, of course! Thanks.

I have a '98 with 62k miles on it. I'll sell it soon.
I think having all service records and seeing services done on time is important. Do a CARFAX. Most of the gremlins were with the first year '97 cars so I think you're safe with those years. They upgrade the motors for the top: I had that done and it wasn't covered by the warrantee. Grrr.
