Alignment and Lowering Boxster
Although I've been a Porsche owner for a few years, this is my first post on this board. Please be kind.
I used H&R sport springs to lower my '99 Boxster about two years ago. Immediately after lowering the front and rear alignment could not be brought back to Porsche specs...fairly close but not spec. At the time, my shop (very reputable) told me that you can never bring these lowered cars back to spec.
After eating through a couple of sets of tires I took the car in for a new alignment. Now the settings are even further from spec. No damage to the car and everything is put together correctly. The shop says to call H&R and see if they know what the problem is.
The H&R guy (very nice and very helpful) says, I've never heard of alignment problems using our springs.
Has anyone out there expienced the same thing? Is there a solution - other than the original springs? Are my springs defective?
Sorry for the long post.
Thanks for your help.

I have H&R springs in my 99 boxtser. It lowered the car approx 30-40mm. It is correct in that the alignment cannot be brought back to factory specs. The car sits lower and naturally has more negative camber. For me this was one of the BENEFITS. I have the car dialed in after about 4 alignments to really perform on the track. The only mods are the springs and Kuhmo V700 tires. The wear on these and the Hoosiers I used to run has been very even. If you drive the car gently and alot of miles, you will experience significantly more wear on the inside of the tires due to the negative camber. It depends on what your driving is like. <img src="graemlins/burnout.gif" border="0" alt="[burnout]" />

I have 18" Kinesis SuperCups on S02's. I've had problems with both camber, and in the case of the left rear, toe which gives a strange thrust angle.
I'm probably not driving hard enough, so I may need to go with ROW 030 springs. Will they work with my standard suspension pieces?

If you don't have the US 030 suspension then you will need the entire ROW 030 suspension, not just the springs. I already have the US 030 suspension so I just need springs. Springs run between $250 and $300, but the entire 030 setup is around $1000 or so.
