Hi, I've joined the ranks of the Boxster S owners and found this forum. Is it my imagination or is this sight seldom used. I noticed Porsche Petes Boxster board has a lot more participants that seem to post on a daily basis. I like the format better on this forum but wonder why so few posts. Any insight?
Regards,
Bob

Hi Bob, welcome aboard!

I am waiting for my first Boxster to be built, a 2.7, and like you I can't quite work out why there is so little traffic on this forum. As you say the functionality here is great!

I will keep checking on here to see if it hot's up but I am beginning to get the feeling that perhaps the majority of owners of our cars ar a little bit older (I am 32 so I mean older than me!) and they are easy too busy making money or not quite in witht he internet generation to participate in a forum like this!

I am a graduate from the 'Scooby community' Subaru Imrpreza WRX's and there is 10 times as much on the 'net about these cars and they have only become the phenomenon that they are in the past 5 years!

Cheers,
MogulBoy

Guys,
If you want to see some really high bandwith, take a look at the 924/944/951/968 forum. There are probably 20-25 posts a day, and the response time for questions is on the order of ~minutes~.

I think that the owners of the 9XX cars tend to be younger, college-age or twentysomething, and much more interested in the technical side of their cars. The fact that the cars are cheaper (at least before all of the modifications) affects the demographics as well.

Hi Bob, and welcome! <img src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" border="0" alt="[cheers]" />

Yes, there's a lot more traffic at PPBB - I visit both boards regularly. Over here, there's a lot of traffic on some of the others. The Boxster forum has never really gotten going, but there's lots of good info that applies to Boxsters, and some really great people, on some of the other forums.

Happy Boxstering,

Pat <img src="graemlins/xyxwave.gif" border="0" alt="[bigbye]" />

Thanks for the welcome guys, I think some of you may be right that the younger set may post more and it could be because they have more time. I was a Corvette owner and the most popular Corvette forum has over 20,000 members! Anyway, I just got my car a month ago and I'm really enjoying it, just waiting for Spring and warm sunny days to begin. One month old and I haven't even dropped the top yet. Anyone going to the Boxster event in North Carolina this June?

Bob
