Post 5 point seat belts

I'm interested in installing 5 pt. belts in the Boxster. How do the shoulder belts mount? Is there an after market vendor for the parts.

Shoulder belts, simply wrap around the roll bar.

Lap belts--I use clip on ends, with an eye bolt in place of the stock bolt that secures the 3 point belt on the outside. For the inner, I use the B-K tunnel side mounting brackets.

Sub belt--bolts to the front two seat bolts (go to your dealer and ask for the longer pewter colored seat bolts to give you more thread to deal with)--you will need a Vee belt to do this, a submarine belt that has two ends with bolt in attachments. Or if you have a GT3 seat, Porsche makes a sub-belt mounting bar that bolts between the seat and the seat rails.

For belts, I like the Team Tech Ram pack--you can see it here http://www.vacmotorsports.com/cgi-bin/view_item.pl?item_id=37.

Anyone that sells harnesses can set you up with the eye bolts and clip on or bolt in ends for the belts. For the Brey-Kraus tunnel side mount brackets, I use OG racing.

I have Sparco 6 point cam lock belts, which I really like. I recommend the cam lock if you can get them.

Like Paul said Brey Krause makes tunnel brackets for both the inboard and outboard factory seat belt mount. I went with both of these and I can use my factory 3 point belts with no problems while the 6 points are in. I suspect Paul's method requires you to remove a portion of the factory belt when you install the 6pt harness. Or did I misunderstand that Paul?

They also make sub belt mounting plate if you only have 5 point belts and want the sub belt to be in the center. If you get the Vee sub belt (like Paul mentioned) you can mount either end of the "V" to the existing bolts for the seat mount.

Once you get them installed it's phenominal how well they work. I was very surprised at how much I use the steering wheel and dead pedal to brace myself. So much so that I am having to retrain myself not to.

Nothing gets removed--I'm not sure what you read in my post, but the 3 point stock and my 5 point harnesses co-exist in the same car. From the sounds of it the only difference from my installation to yours is (it sounds like you bought) I think you use the B-K outbound clip mount. I use an eye-bolt in the same location which costs less. That's all.
