I'm not an expert. But speaking of egas. I was talking to a guy last weekend who had a 3.4 pre-egas (I believe) in a Boxster. He lead me to believe that he had issues with the engine management system and recommended using an aftermarket system (can't remember the names off the top of my head). So if you weren't using the stock engine management system you wouldn't have to worry about getting an egas vs. non-egas engine. Or would you? He was throwing out a lot of info and I wasn't taking notes so I may have misunderstood.
