Retrofit new ragtop w/ glass on old Boxster?
I understand that the new Boxster has a roof with a glass back window. I have a '99 Boxster and I was wondering if there was any way to retrofit the new roof on the old Boxster. The only thing I don't like about that car is the rear window.

The frame has to be replaced with a '03 frame as well.
The are the prices given to me by my local parts counter:
$2,069.20 for the top. $6,534.16 for the frame.
Doubt many people are going to be doing this at those prices. Jeff

We looked at doing that recently for an 02 986S that came in on trade. The rear window looked like it had been sanded. I've never seen scratches like that before. Anyway, we looked at the cost of doing the swap to a glass window, and it easily doubled the price of the old roof. Not worth it in my opinion.

I'll bet that only a few pieces of the top frame are different. I will look in the PET at work and find out. I have a 99 that needs a top and would love to have a glass rear window.
