I just put new tires on my recently purchased Boxster. The car had its original P-Zero tires on it (from '99, no less!) When I purchased the car, they seemed to have plenty of tread on them. One day at "the gym" I noticed that the tires seem to have many small cracks in them! Not wanting to risk it, I ordered four new OE spec Pirelli P-Zeros to be fitted by my mechanic. WHAT A DIFFERENCE! The car is much smoother and quieter than with the old tires. I suppose the old rubber just got hard, and that's why I'm seeing the difference? Anyway...best $800 I've ever spent.
