I've just hit the one-year anniversary of the ownership of my 2002 Boxster. This mileage is only around 6,700 miles. As suggested, I'm going to have an annual maintenance done on the vehicle. The dealer is quoting $260 for the maintenance, of which $170 is for the oil change alone! Is this way out of line? Can I just go to a Jiffy Lube or comparable to have it done? Although I know that synthetic oil costs a lot more than regular, it still seems way too high.
Thanks!
Thanks!

You can do the oil change yourself for about $50. ($35 in oil...$10 for a filter & o-ring).
You will need Rhino Ramps (available at Wal-Mart) to get under the back of the car.
It's easy and even fun, assuming you have the time.

There is nothing special about changing the oil on a Boxster. <a href="http://forum.boxa.net/index.php?act=ST&f=13&t=777&s=" target="_blank">Oil Change 101</a>
In our local Boxster group we make the women change their own oil. Jeff
