ERAU-944

Hi, i'm a poster over on the 944 board (for obvious reasons) and i was wondering what kind of markings you all have on the back. i have seen boxsters that had the delete option for the rear emblem, and the regular boxsters and boxster s's, but i'm wondering if there was an option to have the "986" on the back there (trying to prove my friend wrong) thanks!

what people often do is buy the emblem for the 968 model and switch the 6 and 8. Since the script is very similar the Boxster font used on the numbers in the tach.

yeah i had figured that might be the case, but still wondering if that would have been an option from the factory or even dealer.

No, the only option is to delete the Boxster or Boxster S logo altogether. There is NO factory 986 logo, but as Robert said you can get a 968 logo and reverse the 6 and 8 and attach that.

If you friend has that and is trying to tell you it came from the factory that way then he is mistaken.

nah, turns out i'm wrong... but that 968 logo looks so much like the new scripts on the boxster, i had myself convinced that was it. i have seen them delete too, looks baaaad(in a good way) with nothin back there... kinda mysterious. my dentist leased one like that and he said people were like "what is that" he told them... i'd have said "if you have to ask, you'll never know" btw my dentist now has a 993, and is waiting for his lease on the boxster to run out... he wants to track the 993. at least he didnt sell out and buy something that wasn't porsche <img src="graemlins/bigok.gif" border="0" alt="[thumbsup]" />
