..be aware that PCA has new Driver's Ed rules for harnesses and seats which may preclude using stock seats.

Interestingly stock 3 point setups are still OK, but 4 points are not. Any five or six point system will almost surely require race seats or GT3type seats.

Check with the group with whom you intend to run.

I haven't done it myself. That said, the most common place I have seen shoulder belts mounted to is the actual roll bar. The horizontal bar behind the seats. For the lap belts, most put in an "eye" bolt near the factory placement and then use clip on belts. For the sub staps, you should use a seat designed for their use (usually have a hole in the seat cushion) to pass them through.

BUT

1) There are pending changes with PCA National regarding seat/harness rules. Check with your local region to see what if any changes they have alread adopted. It tends to be either A) use stock seats and belt or b) if you use 5/6pt harnesses, you must use a seat designed for there use (ie a race seat) and NOT the factory seat. I assume a GT3 seat, if equipped with a sub hole, would meet the goal of the proposed rules.

2) 4pts tend to be denied due to the ability to slip under the whole harness in a frontal impact. Then the "lap belt" of the 4pt gets to dig into the soft tissue of your stomach and such. Without the anchoring affect of the sub strap, you can do more damage than good with a 4pt system.

I have the 5-point installed. The PO installed it before I bought it and he is a DE instructor. Whenever I get the Boxster back from the mechanic I will take some pics for you if I can remember to do it. I should have it back by next weekend if the computer comes back and works so feel free to PM me as a reminder next weekend if I don't post.

National PCA's finall requirements are out and they will also allow sport seats as long as they are fitted with slots for the shoulder harness and sub belt from the seat manufacturer. There are a few sport seats on the market that have these. Recaro SRD comes to mind. IF you take this approach you can still use the 3 point belts on the street.
