The car was down for a little over a week, and there were some long nights in there. We were measuring 15 times before making a cut or weld, because we didn't want to make a mistake. We could have gone faster, i guess, but we enjoy working on things and getting distracted.
And it's not over by any means, still a work in progress.

FWIW, it took me probably an hour to cut and fit all the pipes for my exhaust, and my welder had it welded 360 in another two hours.
If you don't care about the resonance and you bring your own mufflers and pipes, a muffler shop could bang out a catback like mine very cheaply.

Looks cool. Have any pics with the bumper on? would like to see how the tips are place and look.
I think if I was making an exhaust I would bring the mufflers lower to the ground so you could put the tips up on a pretty serious angle al la. lambo...

Know what I mean? Some angle up would look cool to see more muffler under the back of the car and tips. Everything in polished pipe tig welded would be pretty pimp...

I know most will probably disagree with me, but I really hate the center-mounted exhaust. To me it looks like... well... you know.
Unfortunately there's no way I can cover up that center hole, so my next custom exhaust attempt will exit there too. Bleh.

Guess it better look good then.
Oh, you guys may or may not notice how bad the welding job looks on this exhaust. but since we haven't bought a wire-fed welder yet, it's function over form right now.
anybody else have sound files of their droning problem. I'm not sure mine is as bad as you guys think. I think I could probably live with mine if I wasn't determined to fix it.

What did you use to weld it, a torch?
I never took sound files of mine. It was actually bearable if you kept the revs above 3,000 RPM or below about 2,500 RPM. So cruising around town it was tolerable. But on the freeway, where the engine is always turning between 2,500 and 3,000 it was just insane.
Those straight-through mufflers have absolutely no ability to attenuate low frequencies. That plus the short exhaust path leads to a lot of low frequency noise. Ugh.
