`Boxster and clubracing
Hi all,
I have been thinking on parting with my 944S2 that I have been racing in the Porsche sports cup.
Fun car.
But I would like to have something new.
A boxster (2,7/S) would be interesting.
I have some questions that I hope to have some input on:
1. I have seen a lot of ads where then engine has been replaced.
The replacement has been made when the car was fairly new, has there been similar problems with engines with more miles under the belt?
2. Is a well-sorted boxster a competitive race car?
3. Weight?
The Porsche sports cup stipulated that the car is roadlegal and the weight limit for my class will be 5kg/HP, that is a 2.7 with 220 hp would be 1100kg, a S with 252 hp 1260kg.
The standard seats, aircon, airbags will go, but the rollcage will compensate.
What could a quick diet do for the wheight of a boxster?
Regards
Anders

Boxters are a competetive car here in our NASA region...have two that run in GTS Challenge...Both drivers are quite skilled and their cars are set up nicely.
