Marc Is the one shown a GAHH or a different one. I am ordering mine through an upholstery shop, so I am not sure of the brand name. Which one should I order?

I think GAHH is the only company that makes it so I am sure thats what you will get.

there's a British company named BAS that makes one too, when the two tops were new BAS didn't have the window seperation problems that the GAHH had in some cases

Does anyone in the US sell the BAS top? Looks to have a larger rear window? I wonder how they pull that off. hard to tell because they only have one awfull picture on their site.

I still would get the GAHH based on customer service alone.

I have no idea Marc, here's a link to their site and the top, it's all I've got aside some RennTech posts from people (who live across the pond) that have it, as you can see the glass is a little different

There's a guy on PPBB (GoGo from S. Fl) that has a BAS top, and says he loves it. He bought it from BAS and had them ship it to him in Florida. And that is correct- BAS never had the window separation problems that GAHH did.

I hope GAHH's revised top with the reinforced pocket does last. It's still yet to be seen if it can hold up over time. I personally think the placement of the window makes the difference in terms of whether or not it separates, not necessarily how much reinforcement you put into it, because over time, the reinforcement must break down if the stress levels are too high.

I just found an ebay seller with "brand new boxster top w/ original german canvas and a glass rear window" for $765 buy it now????

Thay seems like a rather large difference from the price of $1042 at Gahh's website??

It makes me wonder if there is a gahh "knockoff" because $250 (25%) is a big price difference.

Thoughts?

^^^ What year top? Could it be a factory top from '03 and later? Those, of course, will not work with the '02 and older frames.

...or could it be somebody who bought one, then decided to "sell the car instead", so now they have a "new" top?

It could may very well be a GAHH, but one that doesn't have the reinforced pocket for the glass window. ie.- it will separate on ya. I'd spend the little extra to buy it directly from GAHH so that you get the 2 yr. warranty on it for piece of mind.
