I changed the front pads yesterday, and I must say this was the most simple brake job I have ever done. The back pads were fine so I did not swap them out , but I did remove the rear wheels and inspect the rear pads and give the wheels a good cleaning. I just wonder how much a shop charges for this job. Anyone that can jack a car up , and take a wheel off can do a brake job on this car! Is a 993 brake job this simple? I hope so.
This is the first time I have done any thing to this car, and it makes me love my P car just that much more!

I would imagine it is. My '87 928 is just as easy so I'm sure the 993 is the same.

A porsche is one of the easiest brake jobs you will ever do, 993, 996, boxster, 944, it doesn't matter. The older brembo brake calipers are slightly different, but just as easy. They used a spring mechanism I guess you could call it to hold in the pads, versus the pin that the newer models use. The 993 is just as easy as the boxster.
