Cayman test drive. Nice !
I know, wrong item for boxster forum...
I have a 2000 standard boxster but got the oportunity to test drive a Caymen this past saturday at a local PCA / dealer type open house event. OK, my car puts out 225ish (hp) and the cayman is 295ish. WOW, I could feel those extra 70 poneys in the top half of the rev range. Also, the car I drove had the sport mode and adjustable suspension mode, again, really nice... You could definately tell a difference when the sport mode was on. 300hp in that small of a car, was a really nice drive on the cloverleafs !
But, when it was all said and done, the sales guy gave me his card and said to call if I wanted to see about trading in my boxster for a Cayman. I told him I had only one problem with that; My car is paid for and no car payment is worth more to me than the extra 75hp.....
But it sure was a nice test drive...
Just my 2 cents....

I drove one as well. Though the grunt and sound was better, with my hard top, I am having a hard time convincing myself the extra 50K over what my 01 S is worth is sane. If I were to replace the Boxster it would be the right car for me. Since I will be retiring and not having to commute, the 6 speed will be the one. Hey, besides the dealer told me my red interior is a 4k option on the cayman. Maybe some day it will be a straight across trade.
