Knappster

I have a 2001 Boxster, with the hardtop, (just purchased in December). Finally got the hoist installed and the top removed. Now when I look at the left (drivers) side forward edge of the top on the inside, there is an elastic strap, with a small black plastic hook on the end. Where does it go? I've looked in the shop manual and it has nothing, haven't been around other boxsters to ask the question.
Anybody know?
