wheel problem
i replaced my 18" carrera wheels with p-zero tires that came with my 2k boxster S with a 5-spoke carrera wheels from a 2k5 997 carrera with Continental Sport Contact 2 tires.. when mounted, the front wheels are fine but im have a problem with the rear wheels.. the rear wheels are touching the bottom of the shock springs!! when i bought the wheels, porsche said the wheels should be fine but it's not.. do i have to change the tires or put on spacers??
i believe these was what i had (stock)
front 225/40/ ZR 18 (tires) 7.5J x 18 H2 (Rim)
Rear 265/35 ZR 18 (tires) 9J X 18 H2 (Rim)
I replaced them with these (5-spoke carrera)
front 235/40/ZR18 (tires) 8J X 18 H2 (rim)
rear 265/40/ZR18 (tires) 10J x18 X H2 (rim)
front wheels w/ tires are fine when mounted
rear wheels w/tires gave me a problem
the 5-spoke carrera are 1" wider in the rear so what do I do.. do i need to put a 1" spacer or change the tires? please help

Check the offset on the rear wheels, you need to get to a total offset of between 47mm and 50mm. The rear 18"x10" 997 wheels have a base offset of 58mm. From that it looks like you need a 10mm spacer to position these wheels properly on your 986. It also looks like the fronts, at a 57mm offset would benefit from a 5mm spacer as 50mm on an 8" wheel is ideal for the 968.
10mm and 5mm spacers will require longer lug bolts. Talk to the guys at Wheel Enhancement, they should be able to set you up.
