Thanks for all the info ar38070. I was using a friends Actron cp9145 scanner.
Thanks for the clairification on the sensor too. I called around and autohause is cheepest so I will probably order one in the next week or so to have on hand for when the error comes back. I'll probably order a cold air intake kit at the same time too. What the heck, while i am in there.

I purchased a actron scanner and used it to check the MAF readings after I cleaned the sensor with Brake Cleaner. The readings were significantly higher than before the cleaning. Only time and miles will tell if the cleaning did the trick. I think I will order a sapre MAF to be safe. Happy Motoring Gang !

I had the same two codes on a friends car. It turned out to be a cracked hard vacuum line going from the intake to the brake booster. The line has a jet pump (venturi) to supply extra vacuum to the brakes at low RPM.. Tiptronic Only...check for vacuum leaks
