I use two of them. A cheapo I bought on eBay for $25 just to get code numbers quick and easy. Works well and has a book of codes with it.

I also use AutoTap. It's much more extensive and costs $180. It plugs into a laptop or palm (you choose when you order it) and it records everything as you drive. It reads all of the sensors in real-time and you can decide what to have displayed on the screen. You can have it record and save everything so you can diagnose it later and don't have to be looking at the computer while you're driving. It's a fantastic diagnostics tool.
