I'm going to buy a car just for DE, possibly (if i'm ever good enough) for club racing. I've found a couple 80'ish 911's fully prepped for mid $20K but I was wondering about taking a Boxster, putting a full welded in cage, lowering, better suspension, etc would be? Only ones i've seen at DE were pretty stock, some quick and some not. Are many guys into working the 986s? I never seem to hear about them. I would think once the body gets stiffened up with a cage, some good seats, the mid-engine would be a great track machine.

I don't know squat, just putting it out there for comment!
