Spent the day looking at Boxsters, for my wife and I have what may be a silly question. Where is the VIN decal with build date located? Typically its (air cooled cars) located in the door jam, just under the striker latch.

I have decoded most of the options on one car I am interested in, but cant seem to find a few:

198

584
680

Any help would be appreciated

Tool Pants

For 1997 it is on the driver's side door sill just below the striker latch. Then in 1998 it moved to the door. It is a black sticker with the VIN and month/date.
