What parts are required and what is the procedure for adding an on board computer to my '01 Boxster S?

to get temperature display, someone simply needs to enable it with a PST2 computer

you can also do a 'hack' that involves installing a 4 way stalk to get full functionality.

Will the dealer do the "hack" if I purchase the stalk? Is the stalk easy to install?

Ask your dealer if they will do it - if they even know about it. This is not an official Porsche retrofit. I have done at least 40 retrofits on 1997-2003, and some people on the message boards still say it cannot be done on a 2003. I've done two 2003s and a few 2001-2002s. Even made a movie of 4 retrofits, with the stalk and switch, on 4 different year cars.

I have an '01 and full functionality but no stalk. The left side of the center console had 2 unused switches and I had the hack done using those to switches. I like it better. The stalk gets in my way at the track. I had the dealer turn it on though.
