Factory installed cold air box for a California car?
My dad is in Twin Cities looking at a car from Autotrader with this discription:
2001 Boxster S, 3.2 Liter, 6 speed, 17,700 miles, Lapis blue metallic, Savanna beige interior, Black softtop, Design Touring Package, Sport Package, Xenon headlights, headlight washers, color crested wheel caps, 6 disc CD player, Porsche installed cold air box and short throw shifter. Car is still under factory warranty! Excellent condition and never abused.
1. Is there a "factory" short shift kit?
2. He said some ticking from the engine is from the cold air box installed because it's a California car. It's helps the car run cooler.

I have an 01 S and its a Calif car. Never heard of such a thing and never hear any clicking from the air box. If its under warrantee have the dealer do a check on the noise as part of the purchase agreement. Then you have the option if it turns out you dent want the car.

Dad pulled into the driveway and I knew what it was - Cold air intake. The "ticking" the previous owner was talking about was the woosh of air. Not sure how that would be a "ticking" sound.
Oh well.
