Hey all, I posted this question as a poll in the New Member Welcome section but someone said no one will see it there and to post it here but it looks like I can’t post a poll in this section, LOL, so please just give me your advice below, thanks!
I just bought this car on Cars & Bids on Friday and flew to New Orleans and drove it home about 700 miles over the weekend - car drove flawlessly!
According to the seller the car has the following mods including Avery Dennison SW900 gray exterior vinyl wrap.
Modifications
Notable modifications reported by the seller include:
Avery Dennison SW900 gray exterior vinyl wrap
18-inch 987 Boxster wheels
PedrosGarage TechnoPower kit with 74mm throttle body
Aftermarket axle-back exhaust
LN Engineering IMS bearing replacement
B&M short shifter
Removable hardtop
Laminated taillights
Pioneer head unit
I originally thought I would remove the Grey wrap to reveal the Speed Yellow since it’s one of my favorite Porsche colors but now the Grey is starting to grow on me. I also have concern as to what the paint would look like once the wrap is removed. I am the TWELTH owner according to CarFax and the seller I bought it from said it was already wrapped when he bought it.

Welcome! I saw when it was on Cars & Bids. I think the grey looks great especially with the hardtop on. The speed yellow looks good too. Hopefully the original paint is still in good condition.
Glad to see another 986 in the Tampa / Clearwater area.
I'm impartial to colour because it's a personal preference but one thing to keep in mind is how long the wrap has been on the car for. Wraps have a limited lifespan to their usefulness and leaving it on too long in hot environments could potentially impact your clearcoat and paint when you decide to take off the wrap. Some people may not mind, but I wanted to throw it out there due to the age of our cars and having heard of first hand stories of the damage done.
