Hey guys,
I am looking to purchase a 2001 triple black boxster.
When would be the best time to buy it?
Do I puchase it this fall/winter in hopes of getting a good deal with those who are going to store it?
Or do I wait to purchase it next spring and to get a better deal?
Thanks as always

The worst time to buy a sports car, especially one such as the Boxster (convertible) is in the spring time, demand is the highest as are the prices. However a new model Boxster will be hitting the streets probably early next year, so it might keep the prices of the older models down.......but they are still going to be higher in the spring time rather then the fall.

It also forces you to test drive the car with the top up. There aren't many convertibles that are a pain to drive when the weather is nice and the top is down. But when it's time for the top to go up, you see any shortcomings.

You know, you CAN drive them in winter. Just put a good set of winter tires on another set of wheels (easily found for good prices on eBay) and let 'er rip. Last winter my Boxster was nearly flawless, really. This winter will be even better with the hard top I just fitted.

...yes. But that's beside the point. ![Big Grin](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Actually, if you think about it, other than deep snow, the Boxster is not so far fetched...well balanced, low center of gravity, weight over the rear wheels for traction (but without the rear engine propensity to step out like earlier 911s), ABS, traction control (if you have it...but even without it its pretty good). This past winter wasn't terrible, but even so the Boxster was never challenged.
Of course, there is the BIG worry that you have no control over....THE OTHER GUY (a.k.a. The Idiot). For that reason, I don't blame anyone who doesn't want to drive their Pcar in winter.
