Help with cooling fans.
2000 S here. Getting a new coolant tank and AOS installed as I type this. On the way to the shop, it was running hot. Coolant level was fine.
I have checked the fans with the Durametric software and they both run on low and high. Doesn't seem to come on with the A/C. Any idea why it's not kicking on the fans? Sensor? Switch?
Thanks!

Why do you expect your fans to come on for just running the AC?

Just about every car made with modern Ac all cooling fan s are programmed to come on when Ac is turned on , regardless of temp. I imagine he has a bad sensor somewhere..

Anyhow... I had problems with my fans about 6+ years ago replacing them both. I forgot that when I was testing them I throttled the AC switch. I recall the fans coming on when the AC button was activated.
I'm thinking, now... sensor not so much instead a bad relay... fuse... AC button connection.
Thank you for the correction.

Incidentally, in mobile development, creating apps for vehicle monitoring could add even more convenience for users. Features like remote diagnostics and real-time error notifications would make it easier to stay on top of your vehicle’s condition.

It looks like you've covered the main points: coolant level and fan functionality. If the fans aren’t kicking on with the A/C, it could indeed be an issue with a sensor or relay. Often, the problem lies with the coolant temperature sensor or fan relay, which might not be sending the correct signal to activate the fans when the A/C is turned on. It could also be worth checking the A/C pressure switch, as it sometimes impacts fan operation in certain systems. A good shop, especially with diagnostic software like Durametric, should be able to quickly identify and fix any issues, whether it’s a sensor or relay problem.

Remote diagnostics would imply changing operating characteristics of a vehicle from an App ( not just logging ). I am not conspiracy minded in any way but manipulation of an app of this kind could be inherently dangerous could it not ?
Secret agent making another car accelerate from your phone kind of stuff
