hi guys having chain guides and some other small jobs done in the next few months my on my 98 986 tip 66kkms after finding several pinhead sized bits of brown plastic in the oil filter my question has anyone had experienc with EPS type roller bearing IMS bearings and results pls my porsche guru has used them and swears by them but ive never seen them mentioned on this site interested in users comments cheers gazza

I'd recommend looking over on the 996 forum. You might get a response there.

when you say chain guides can you be more specific.. I think of chain guides as the ones that carry the main IMS chain. This is no small Job as transmission has to be removed. Plus these do not really wear at all. Are you speaking of the variocam actuator pads ? , that is where your brown particles are coming from , can be done in car and does not require engine removal. I did mine at 170kkm and they were due .
As to which IMSB to use, there are quite a few options these days, and as Charles Mentions, i would check the 996 forum as most activity is over there.

@theiceman I have the EPS solution in my car. It was installed at Mantis when Ernie still ran the shop, then shortly Dirk and Jon took it over. I don't know what they use now. I installed it at approximately in 2018 at 135,000KM and now have 151,000KM.
