i have a boxster S with a 996 3.6l motor. my car need a new gearbox and i wonder if is it possible and better install a 996 gearbox.

has anybody tried it?

 

I would like to hear the details of your 3.6 conversion.

You can do it - if you like 6 reverse gears and 1 very low forward gear. The final drive on a 996 turns in the opposite direction since the power train unit on a 996 is "backwards."

i am not interested in a cronic "torticulis". thanks for the advise.

 

it may be more practical to get custom gears for your current gearbox, but with a reinforced clutch/flywheel/synchros.
