Hey
I have a 2006 911 C4S that had "lobster" wheels on it. Those wheels now have my track tires now, using R888R's..I am building a 2001 Boxster S, for a dedicated track car.
Has anyone run this set up? I have heard the rears need spacers, and the fronts will fit with a little rubbing on the fender liners, maybe a little trim . .I have not checked tire overall height, circ, etc. I know I can remove the springs, re-install the struts, cycle the suspension and check for myself. I will be converting to wheel studs.
I was also told, (and here is where offered advise can be poor advise un intentionally ) that 19" wheels and tire size combo can damage suspension components due to excessive load of tires that stick, do they fit at all? .I am running JRZ struts, and I would think that 18" wheel and tire combo would no make a difference. I know this may be a foolish question, but just at my laptop not, raining and 35 degrees outside, thought run wild!
Thoughts ?

I've never tried 19" wheels, but I can tell you that I have run 255 / 35 - 18 tires on the front of my car with a 25.1" OD, and had quite a bit of rubbing on the fender liners. You may need to adjust caster to reduce scrubbing. The factory specs for caster are overly large anyway, if you have camber adjustment available in your set-up.
Personally, I don't understand this fad with using larger and larger wheel diameters - they will be slower due to increased unsprung weight and a higher overall final drive ratio.

no fad for me..Just want to see if I can use the track tires and wheels I have rather then see them sitting in the trailer on track day.
The more I research, the more I think it will be too much work and some odd adjustments. I want to flip out both wheels sets I have now on the 986 S and get a "good" set of wheels, light weight. I will prob sell the current set I have after I shake down this car
