Hey! I'm a potential first time Porsche buyer, and I have a single image of a car i'm looking to go see this coming weekend.
The seller is listing it as a 2000 Boxster, but the headlights and calipers don't match what i'm seeing online.
Can someone see if its a Boxster S based on headlights and the red calipers? He claims no extra work was done on the car - and its well maintained with all records etc. Im excited to take a look at it this weekend but this photo is not matching what a typical 2000's Boxster looks like. He's not super responsive, i asked in my messages if it was an S but he has yet to respond, and i doubt he will before i see the vehicle.
Let me know what you think!

Vin is the correct way to ensure 100% is it an S model. Other ways also but these can be faked or added on.
1) Center radiator
2) Door sill should say "Boxster S"
3) In the center console it should also say "Boxster S"
Not likely to be faked, but you have to get under the car and look up the number and it if is a 3.2l engine.
4) Get the engine number from around the oil pan and look it up.
If you are new to Porsche you also need to ask the following
1) Do you have all the service records?
2) How often has the oil been changed?
3) Has the IMS bearing ever been services?
4) Has any other engine services been preformed?
5) If it is a manual, when was the gear lube last replaced?
