EDIT: RESOLVED
So earlier this week my convertible top decided to stop working. It sounds like its struggling against something, and then will give up after a couple seconds. I replaced both plastic gears in the transmissions, and no luck. The rod caps on either side seem intact and are secure. When the transmissions are hooked up to nothing, or just the soft top, they work fine with even power and constant movement. But once the clamshell is connected I have the same problem I started with. Maybe a voltage problem at the motor and the weight of the clamshell is too much for it? I am a little confused and could use some help, any thoughts?
Thanks
Thanks
Yes. That one. I call it the "Dummy relay". You'd have to be a dummy to pay $300.
Used ones can be had for much less. [/QUOTE
I just paid $300 for one. My old one was causing a brown out condition.

Lol. I meant every other dummy. Not you.
You couldn't find a used relay? I suppose if someone (a seller) knows what they cost... there won't be much of a discount.
Damn. $300.
Oh trust that I am and have been a dummy at times, like all of us. In this case, I wanted a new one because I wasn't convinced that the issue was with this module and if I got a used one it could potentially have the same issue and I'd still be going in circles. It took me about 10 mo. and a LOT of unnecessary work on my car to finally solve it.
