I have a 2000 boxster, both windows stopped working using window switches (located between two seats), however, if I use the key (turning left and right from outside on the driver door), both windows go up and down as they suppose to, even they drop 1/2 inch to clear the door.. any idea what could be wrong?

You need access to a Porsche specific diagnostic tool to read the codes that result from this. PIWIS, PST2, Durametric.
