Ceramic brake conversion for Boxster S
#2
I haven't heard of anyone doing a conversion. Based upon what I've read on the GT2/GT3 boards, more people are removing PCCB than putting it on!
It appears to be not yet ready for prime time - lots of durability problems, especially at the track (and the rotors are like $8k a PIECE).

After I did the post I did a little searching and reading. I think that may truly be the ubfortunate case. The 8K each would be also be in the YGTBSM catagory. I woud do a 3.4 convervison first.

Full set of rotors and calipers (new) were on sale on ebay a few days back, going price was US$5500. Pretty good price if you asked me.
However there's no need for such an upgrade on a Boxster S. The carrera sized brakes do a perfect job, and if you are running really hot for an entire day, change your brake pads.
In my opinion your money is better spent on a 3.4 or a 3.6 conversion (but that is way more expensive then a set of PCCB's) or upgrade the suspension, swaybars, rubber.
