In the past, I have been fustrated / embarassed at the non-returns of waves.

My current strategy involves waving only at the Porsche drivers with Porsche based numberplates.
ie: PSH 911, MY 986, etc etc

My sucess rate has gone from 30% to 100%

success rates / factors:

993 class:
driven by men: 80%
women: 10%

996 class:
driven by men: 40%
women: 0%

986 class:
driven by men: 70%
women: 50% (this doesnt count since they think im warning them of a cop)

older 911s:
driven by men: 90%
women: 10%

front engine pcars:
driven by men (usually teens): 10% (but i dont flash them anymore due to the immaturity that tends to be rampant in that area)
women: 0% (none seen)

Nobody is mentioning the Cayenne.
I have flashed a few with no responce. Even though they don't flash they can't take their eyes of my porsche.

I don't see many porsches when I am out. A few boxsters and a few 944s but I am seeing a lot more of the cayennes.

Hey now... not all young water-cooleds are immature!

About the low-wave and thumbs up. I'm aware of the low wave myself, though I never knew the thumbs up was a go-ahead or "clear path" signal. I always assumed it was just another "hey" type wave. Thanks for the info!

The bike wave I got wasn't the warning "low wave," it was more of the arm almost straight out, few fingers stretched wave. LOL I can't believe I'm analyzing a biker wave!!

Cayennes never return. Probably because they are driven by soccer moms.
