Thought forum members would appreciate this happening. Recently purchased a 03 Boxster in meticulous condition from Minneapolis. I live in the Denver area and rigorous state emissions on all cars are required. Took the Boxster in for its inspection and all the BAD lights came on in the inspection facility! Even the gas cap was listed as deficient! I had to take the car to a SPECIAL technical station the next day for a evaluation and then to a Porsche dealer for repairs! The only saving grace was if you spent over $715 you could get a waiver for two years and every two years afterwards you would have to go through the same procedure!. I kept my cool but had thoughts of never being able to sell the Boxster. At the special technical facility they kept the car for 90 minutes and the two techs said the car was beautiful but must have some serious internal engine problems. I kept thinking dollar bill repairs but when they came out something interesting happened. After countless testing the techs said the car was FLAWLESS and said they were going to close down the line at the testing facility to recalibrate all testing machines! What a relief and just shows you never know what can happen. Several techs asked if they could take a picture alongside the yellow Boxster! Not bad for a 20 year old car! Hope you enjoyed the story.
