Default Upstate NY - Boxster out of storage

Anyone else take there car out of storage. I took mine out Friday!
I have to say, it stinks having to wait to take your car out of winter storage, but there is one plus to the long wait.

When you drive it for the first time, you fall in love again! I know why I bought the Boxster! I did miss driving her.

As soon as I got in, I was in heaven. I just love the interior of this car. When I started her, she fired right up, without a problem. I backed her out of the driveway and dropped her into 1st gear, got up to about 3000RPM's and then dropped her into 2nd, and I started to accelerate, 2000RPM's then 3000RPM's then in to the Sweet Zone 4000+ RPM's and she started to get that Boxster Growl.

I just think that is the sweetest exhaust note. I have de-snorkeled my car so it sounds just great when you get to 4000+ RPM's @ WOT

Then came the first corner, onto the expressway ramp, right away I noticed the tight feel of this car. This car feels SUPER Nimble.

There has been allot of talk about the 2.5 motor being underpowered. I have to say for the record that is the BIGGEST misconception about the 97-99 Boxster.

The 2.5 really does push this car around. Porsches are not noted for being 0 to 60Mph drag cars. The 356 was not fast, neither the was 924 or 944 or 914, or the 912 or early 911's but they ruled as track cars.

I have a 1997 Boxster so it might be a little lighter then the 1998-1999 models, I don't have side airbags. My car has a throttle cable, the newer ones have E-Gas. anyway.. the point being, when I go WOT, I get to 60Mph fast. I was surprised a couple of times by jumping on the throttle and then glancing down only to see the digital speedo has past 60Mph.

I Just love the feel and sound of my Boxster. Racing isn't just about 0 to 60Mph it's about the twists and turns and the balance between driver and car.

The Boxster blends this balance so tightly that you really are one with the car from the first time you get in her.

I would dare to say I would be faster around a twisty track in my Boxster then in my C5 Corvette.

Bravo! Bravo! Over the winter I bought a Mini Cooper S for a daily driver etc.. I have been 100% satisfied. Wonderful car in every aspect for the $. that is.... Until... I took my 2001 Boxster out of storage as well. Hello? wake up call. The boxster is truly a fine Automobile! for the Money I should have just bought another with a hardtop and shod it with all season winter tires. The out the door price of the mini was $26,900 including the tax. I would think I could get a 30,000 mile plus boxster for that.
