Default Was a manual convertible top an option?

Hi Boxster Guru's -

Looking at buying an early Boxster 98 or 99 and I was wondering if all of them came from the factory with an electric convertible top? Or was there an option for a manual top?

Thanks.

Power was always standard and manual was never available (I guess if you include the later Boxster Spyder you could call that manual, more like assemble).

Some owners made them manual either to lighten for the track or because of a failure they didn't want to fix. But all came from the factory with the power operated top.
