It's your car, but that is more appropriate to a ricer.
It won't add anything to the performance unless perhaps on a track, but unless you have a 3.6 in there, probably just drag.
If you get one, be sure they throw in a fart can, too!

Porsche actually made an aero kit for 986s. I have one in the garage. I need to get it painted and installed. Crazy thing though, it came without any instructions whatsoever. The rear spoiler has an integrated 3rd brake light too, so it is a tiny bit involved. You have to reroute the lighting, remove wiring for the current automatic spoiler, and remove the current 3rd brake light and install a cover plate in it's location. The thing that surprised me most about the OEM body kit is how light the side skirts are. They are featherweight compared to what you would expect.

Where did you get the aero kit from?

Amazingly it is still on sale.

https://www.suncoastparts.com/produc...62AEROKIT.html

This includes the GT3 front bumper cover too.

Now the 986.2 kit says you need a new rear trunk lid. You do not. However the 986.2 has a jig that shows where to drill the holes stamped into it. I can take photos of both to show you this weekend.

This kit should fit any 986 fine but you will need to carefully measure for the rear decklid holes on a 986.1.

That is the link. 2003-04 is 986.2 and on sale. The 97-02 is 986.1 and $1400 more for slightly different side skirts and rear spoiler instead of a rear wing as shown on the blue car.

It’s a big item since Porsche basically builds a nose out of cardboard to ship the bumper cover.

My aero kit pallet.

Yes the low wing that is pictured on the blue car. I can take photos of it this weekend if you would like along with the hardware and wiring it comes with. It's a complete package for certain.

Default 986 vs 987 Deck Lid

Is there any actual difference in the dimensions and fit of the 986 vs 987 deck lid??

Thanks ... I see now how the tail lights and the rear bumper changed from the 986 to the 987, so I'm guessing the deck lid changed some too.
