Default Speedometer Changeover (Miles>KM)

Can anyone advise me?

In my Boxster I need to change the speedometer for my use in Europe where they measure in Kilometers. My questions are:

Can I buy a new proper Euro speedometer with KM readings (I know they are already there, but inside the MPH readings) on it?

Will it be an easy job to change?

Can I set the KM reading to be the mileage equivilent? Or do I need one of those Odometer companies to change it for me?

How much will it cost to ship my car to Europe from US (roughly??)

Any advise would be great!

It will cost prolly a few hundred at least, depending how you ship. Ship via water to save a lot of money. Air is really expensive I hear. The downfall is it takes a while to ship via boat.

Other than that I have no clue.

you don't have to get the whole gauge just the gauge face. It is not that hard to do but you will have to get someone to do it. Don't know about shipping though. You can try PPBB.com for answers.

Can't you simply hit the metric button on the dash gimbal? In mine, everything electronic converts over. Don't tell me you actually use the analogue speedo in a 986? The marks are practically useless they are so small and closely journalled.

That will get you kilometers in the digital readouts, but the gauge faceplates will still read MPH of course...
