Its been done quite a few time. Hell there a re really public versions of them making 500hp on a stock motor. Just because it is not easy or cheap doesn't mean it cannot be done. Same thing people told me with my Saturn and now it's almost the stock block record making 500hp.

My track car started as a stock 1999 996. Then upgraded to a X51 and a Assco LWFW and Sport clutch were added. That combination did about 13k miles before the crank sheared.

The current 4.0 engine was hand built by Jake and is running the LWFW and the Spec Stage 3 clutch. BUT it also has a billet crank and the complete rotating assembly has been balanced. Its so smooth at idle, you can stand a nickel on its edge. Currently this engine has 3k racing/DE miles on it.
