Shopping for a 986 to replace my beloved S2.

Saw this interior on a 2000 I test drove the other day. Seemed to have worn prematurely and badly. Should I avoid this (I don't actually like it but if the car was good otherwise???).

The drivers side outer bolster on the sport seats was also badly worn and cracked at only 19k - another common problem?

 

I also sold my 1991 944S2 and bought a Boxster.

I have about 76K on my car which is a 1997 and the seats are fine, no wear to speak of.
