Thanks again for all of the help on my "newbie" post I made about a month or so ago.I appreciated all of the help an advice. I managed to find myself a good running 2000 Boxster with about 95k miles on it. I brought it over to the local independent mechanic and did a bunch of the general maint. and gave it a good once over. I used Zybult Motorworks in Amherst, MA and he was very easy to talk to and informative the entire time. It wasn't a hard list of things to do, but it was a lengthy list of things to do:
Mechanics overall inspection (safe on the clutch, rear main seal, and IMS bearing for now! Just drive it for now he says)
Rear brakes/rotors
Spark plugs & coil packs
All major Fluids flushed/replaced
Air oil separator replaced
Oxygen Sensor replaced
Rear sway bar bushing
Other misc.
On my list of things to do is front brake pads & rotors (I'll do these myself. In fact I should have done the rears myself, but he already had the car), AC condensor (blows a fuse - Probably about a $1000 job at the mechanic), new seats, replace the top (I can't get the rear window to be less foggy...but I'll keep trying for now). some paintless dent removal and maybe a respray down the road.
Of course I think it looks better in pictures than it does in person but this is a fun car to drive!
Awesome color combination. IMO 2.7s are easier and less expensive to acquire. If it has the older dual row IMS, I’d drive it and enjoy it and not sweat it.
