Diagnostic Errors and Battery drain after Car Wash
Hi,
This is my First Post!
Was wondering if something like this happened to anyone before.
Just hand washed my car in garage while the key was on (engine was off) for some of the time during the wash. Was working fine before. After the wash, car does not start. Lights flicker. Says battery low and gives many Diagnostic Errors in Yellow and Red.
Here is the video that shows the noise and flickering lights:
Observed the following errors:
- Battery low, start engine (in Red)
- Fault of the headlamps control system (in Yellow)
- Fault parking brake (in Yellow)
- Sockets deactivated (in Yellow)
- PSM loss, possible to drive on carefully (in Yellow)
- Loss of steering support. Increased effort (in Red)
- Press Brake (in Yellow)
(Ignore the Oil change error)
CPO warranty ended just 10 days back Car wont start now and makes weird noises every time I try to switch on the engine or ignition. Hoping that it can be solved by jump starting battery and changing fuse but not sure!
I hand washed it many times before. Never had a problem. Any guidance will be very helpful! Thank you

Its a Boxster base 2013.
SOLVED!!
Simply jump started the vehicle. Positive to Positive, Negative to Chassis. Used a jumpstarter kit. All diagnostic errors gone and two new popped up (Start/Stop disabled; Steering Support limited, possible to drive on). Drove car for 15 min and those two messages were also gone!
Lesson learnt:
- Always switch off the vehicle when washing it.
- Put some plastic cover between the top of hood and bottom of windshield glass to prevent water/soap from accidentally going into the battery compartment.
- Keep in mind that Porsches are reliable and dont explode when simple **** like this happens!
