99 Boxster.... single row bearing..... engine replaced by Porsche early in life I’d imagine. I’ve heard it happens.

I was going to say single row as well. I just had my first look at one in person and my dish looks shallower.

What is the significance of the "K" marking at the bottom?

Looks to shallow for single row. The image below shows the two different castings, left is single row, right dual row. Except for part number looks like a match on the right.

I’ve seen these photos and it looks deep to me in this photo. Hard to tell form a photo. Pull it and verify. That’s the best way to know.
