^This. These things aren't rockets, by any stretch. They're a lot safer than the janky crapcans we drove around when I was a new driver in the late 70s.

I'm willing to bet that a Boxster with a roll bar extension and a hard top is safer than a newer Toyota Corolla. My wife suggested we spend our 10K budget for his first car on a new Kia... I said hell no!

The Boxster is one of the safest cars available if you are in a collision. Both front and back have large crush zones and the fact that the engine is behind you smooths out the deceleration in a front end collision.
