What octane?

Premium in my state is 93 octane. I have only run premium in my Boxster.
In my BMW, I have tried both regular (87 octane) and premium - and I notice MUCH better performance with the premium.

RON is Research Octane Number. The number on the pumps here in the US is an average of the RON and the MON(Motor Octane Number). These are just two different methods of measuring the octane number. The RON is always a few points higher than the MON and the average. If it calls for 95 RON, then most assuredly 93 on our pumps will meet or exceed that.

Thanks. What I'm getting at is the manual recommends 95 "RON" I forget what the different rattings are. Will any Premium meet that ratting?
