Hope you don't mind if I crow just a bit. I have had intermittent problems with my 1998 Boxster top closing or opening. Sometimes it worked sometimes not. Have not be confident to go out with rain forecasted. E brake light would come on but windows stayed up and no noise from the top. Then suddenly it would work fine for a short while then crap out again. Finally took the front windshield latch off and discovered that the microswitch seemed to work right but noticed that there were times when it never made full contact and made that "click" Cleaned and used very small amount of lubricant and now it seems to work great all the time. Fingers crossed.
