Default Peppers. Locked and Lifted

Haven't seen any yet. When I get a pic of a Cayenne wearing a set of Super Swampers and beadlocks, I'll send it to you

Sorry, we're getting a bit off topic!

Oh well I think a Cayenne with a set of Super Swampers and beadlocks is probably more interesting than a photo contest, but that's just me...

So if you had to choose a Cayenne to get started with, would ya choose one with or without air suspension?

Ghost Rider and FXHottie: If I had the cash available I think it would be great fun to abuse a Cayenne out in the sticks. Only trouble is I would be all alone. I don't think any of the clubs (Land Rover, Hummer, Jeep, etc) would have me . Oh well it would still be fun to get out there and mix it up with 'em.

FXHottie: which off road boards do you frequent? I just got back from a weekend out in Truckhaven with CORVA and the SCLR. Fun stuff. Wish I had the cash to beef up my Range Rover along with my Boxster .

Mike, I watch a couple of marque specific websites for Jeeps and Land Rovers, and a local board called Colorado4x4.org. As you may have figured out, I have sold my Boxster and have "replaced" it with a couple of old Series Land Rovers, a 1968 Series IIa and a 1955 Series I diesel.

I would love to find the Cayenne's limits as well, so long as it belongs to somebody else!

FXHottie: Cool, I am really starting to like Rover's. I would love to have a Defender one day, but they are so expensive now. And just like with Porsche the Europeans get all the really cool ones .

A '55 Series? I don't think I've seen anyone around here with one that old. Most of the Series here in SolCal are 60's era. Can't be that many '55's in the country can there? Are you restoring them to original or updating them?

The '68 is pretty much original, except that it is painted Arles Blue, which is a Defender color.

The '55 is an original station wagon, but had been altered substantially by the previous owner. Drivetrain in it is all Series IIa, except for the engine which is a 2.5 diesel from an '84 D110. It's painted Coniston Green, which is also a Defender color. There are very few Series 1s in the US, which can make it a bit tough to find parts. Thus, I'm happy that mine has the later model running gear in it.

Defenders are nice indeed, but definitely overpriced due to the fact that they are no longer imported. It's also a shame that they never imported the 300 tdi Defender (turbodiesel).

Now how's that for off topic?

FXHottie,

Maybe you should have entered a picture of your Land Rover's in Yoseif's contest? I mean at least you would have stood out from what was otherwise a very boring crop of pictures this year....

Q, that's just what the old girl needs! Now when the wheezing old Rover motor maxes out at 65mph, it will look like it's going at least 80!
